Succinic Acid CAS 110-15-6 manufacturer spot Succinic acid, Succinic acid
quality assurance price
Succinic acid is an important "C4 platform compound", which is widely used
in food, medicine and agriculture, as a raw material for the synthesis of
1,4-butanediol, tetrahydrofuran, N-methylpyrrolidone and biodegradable
biopolymers such as polybutylene glycol succinate. The biosynthesis of 1 molar
butanedioic acid will be a promising application. The biosynthesis of 1 mole of
succinic acid will fix 1 mole of carbon dioxide, so the production of succinic
acid by fermentation with carbon dioxide as raw material can not only reduce the
cost of raw materials, but also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Succinic acid is also known as succinic acid. The molecular formula
HOOCCH2CH2COOH. Succinic acid is found in amber, but also in a wide variety of
plants and human and animal succinic acid tissues, such as immature grapes,
beets and rhubarb, human blood and muscle, bovine brain, spleen and thyroid
gland. Succinic acid is an intermediate in the metabolism of carbohydrates in
the body. Succinic acid is widely distributed in the animal and plant kingdoms
and was first discovered in 1550 by Agricola during the distillation of amber,
hence the name succinic acid. Succinic acid (SA) is an intermediate in the
synthesis of many organic substances and an important raw material for the
manufacture of drugs, and is widely used in food, medicine and chemical
industry. It is widely used in food, medicine, chemical industry and other
fields, and with the development of the times, there are new breakthroughs in
the application of succinic acid and its extension products.
Succinic acid is colorless crystal; relative density 1.572(25/4℃), melting
point 188℃, decompose at 235℃; can be sublimated by distillation under reduced
pressure; soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, ether and acetone. As
ionic chelating agent, succinic acid is used in the electroplating industry to
prevent dissolution and pitting of metals; Succinic acid is a good surfactant, a
component of descaling agents, soaps and emulsion breakers; Succinic acid can
produce depilatory agents, toothpaste, cleaning agents, efficient wrinkle beauty
esters. Succinic acid is also used in lubricants, additives, and elastomers.

Succinic acid is widely used in pharmaceutical, dye, paper, textile, spice,
coating, food, plastic and other industries; currently, the sales volume of
industrial grade succinic acid is over 15,000t, largely produced by
petrochemical method from butane through cis-butenedianhydride. Only succinic
acid for the food market is produced by the fermentation method.
Butanedioic acid produced from butanedioic acid alkyd resin has good
flexibilization, elasticity and water resistance, which can be used in the
pharmaceutical industry to produce sulfonamides, vitamin A, vitamin B and
hemostatic drugs; diphenyl ester of butanedioic acid is an intermediate of
dyestuff, and reacts with amino anthraquinone to produce anthraquinone dyestuff;
in addition, butanedioic acid also has a wide range of uses in paper
manufacturing, textile industry, and can also be used as lubricants,
photographic chemicals and It is also used as a raw material for lubricants,
photographic chemicals and surfactants. Succinic acid is also used as a food
acidifier for flavoring wine, feed, and candy. With sales of more than $400

Paraffin wax is deeply oxidized to produce a mixture of various carboxylic
acids, and then separated by water distillation and crystallization to obtain
succinic acid.
2. Hydrogenation method
Hydrogenation of maleic anhydride or transbutenedioic acid under the action
of a catalyst produces succinic acid, which is then separated to obtain the
finished product. The catalyst is nickel or precious metal, and the reaction
temperature is about 130- 140℃.
3. Acrylic acid carbonyl synthesis method
Acrylic acid and carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst to produce
butanedioic acid. Not yet industrialized.

Phthalic anhydride and sulfuric acid and water in the ratio of 1:0.5:4,
electrolysis in a ceramic electrolyzer, can be obtained butanedioic acid.
Electrolytic synthesis of raw materials for maleic acid or maleic anhydride,
cathode and anode solution with dilute sulfuric acid, separated by a cationic
membrane, cathode and anode are generally used lead plate, usually with a plate
and frame electrolyzer synthesis.

was not significant. In rabbits, the leukocyte count increased significantly at
higher doses, and the phagocytosis rate also increased (P<0.01). In the specific skin reaction test, intraperitoneal injection of succinic acid 5mg/kg for 4 times in 48h or once daily for two weeks, succinic acid inhibited passive and active skin allergic reactions in rabbits and reduced the formation of serum 1gE antibody in animals.

The future, butanedioic acid market development prospects
Succinic acid has a wide range of promising applications in food,
pharmaceuticals, surfactants, green solvents, biodegradable plastics and other
fields, and the chemical products market for its derivatives has a large
potential. The most promising market at present is as the main raw material for
the biodegradable plastic polybutylene glycol succinate. At present, the
technology of synthesizing PBS biodegradable plastic from succinic acid has been
successfully developed and put into mass production in BASF, Mitsubishi,
Tsinghua University and Institute of Physical and Chemical Sciences, Chinese
Academy of Sciences, etc. Compared with other biodegradable plastics, PBS not
only has excellent mechanical properties, but also has reasonable price and high
market demand.
In the future, the annual demand of PBS in China will reach more than 3
million tons, based on the production of 1 ton of PBS consuming 0.62 tons of
succinic acid, the consumption of 1.8 million tons of succinic acid, and the
current annual production capacity of succinic acid in China is far from being
able to meet the needs of the market, the market growth of succinic acid is
huge. At present, a number of domestic enterprises are actively preparing to
start PBS projects, has successfully produced PBS enterprises Anqing and Xing
2009 production capacity of 10,000 tons, ready to follow up on the annual
production capacity of 100,000 tons, Xinfu Pharmaceuticals annual production
capacity of 3,000 tons, etc.. And with the successful development of PES plastic
(organic polymer material obtained by condensation of succinic acid and ethylene
glycol) and PHS plastic (organic polymer material obtained by condensation of
succinic acid and adipic acid), two new degradable plastics, the demand for
succinic acid will increase greatly. However, the traditional method of
producing succinic acid which has been using non-renewable strategic resource
petroleum products as raw materials has led to high prices and pollution,
inhibiting the development potential of succinic acid as an excellent chemical
platform product. The foreign production of succinic acid through
biofermentation method uses cheap raw materials, and after reasonable process
optimization, produces succinic acid products with more tremendous advantages
and development potential, and with China's green industry attention, especially
under the growing demand for global sustainable solutions, the competitiveness
of biodegradable bio-based polybutylene succinate is enhanced, which will make
the bio-based butanedioic acid market become bigger and this method will have a
huge development potential.
